The United Republics was formed under the Articles of Union entered into by the Republic of Haldeve and the Nortonian Republic in 3615. Under the Union, the two republics share a common army and currency, recognize each other's legal contracts, and are represented in foreign policy by the President of the Union. The Union Council (consisting of representatives appointed by the two republics) has jurisdiction over trade, and may levy taxes and pass laws as necessary to support the Union army and promote commerce. The Union Court is established to adjudicate disputes between the two Republics.
